The first Life Member conference took place in Austin, Tx, from April 14th to 16th 2024. Most of the 120 to 150 participants came from the South of the US. We were 4 to 5 from Europe. The program offered a variety of presentations aligned with the three directions: Emerging technologies, Applications of technology for aging populations, and Contributions of Life Members.

The introductory speech by IEEE President Thomas M. Coughlin was inspiring. He highlighted the importance of retaining Student and Young Professional members.
I was particularly impressed by the Life Member speakers, sharing their very strong professional background as well as their IEEE activities. Meeting with the IEEE history center personnel is a key takeaway for me and for the Swiss LMAG.

Thanks to IEEE R8 LM and IEEE Switzerland section for sponsoring my participation.
