Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) Chapter
About this Chapter
Welcome to the homepage of the Swiss Chapter of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (IEEE EMBS). We organize talks, excursions, and other networking opportunities related to biomedical engineering. We also aim at increasing awareness of ethical issues and offers a website and a newsletter. We have received the 2009 EMBS Best New Chapter Award. The chapter has about 122 members and is associated with the IEEE Switzerland Section, which has more than 3000 members.
The IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) is the world’s largest international society of biomedical engineers. Its 8’200 members support scientific, technological and educational activities as they apply to the concepts and methods of the physical and engineering sciences in biology and medicine. Key areas of interest include bioinformatics, biotechnology, clinical engineering, information technology, instrumentation and measurement, micro and nanotechnology, radiology and robotics.
